Work Patterns are used to define the days or part days of the working week that are standard working days for an employee or a post. They can be used to define the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of an employee, which can be used to pro-rate salary and/or additional payments or allowances.

Go to the Employment Details page
- Log into Cintra Cloud.
- Select the desired Payroll.
- Within the desired Payroll, select the desired employee.
- Click the three dots at the end of the desired employee's record. The Edit Employee page appears.
- Select Employment details from the side menu. The Employment details pane appears.
- Within the Employee details pane, click the Edit icon. The Employment details page appears.
Within the Work Pattern section, you can view the following:

- The employee's Contracted Hours;

Full-Time Hours within your organisation;
- The employee's Work Pattern;

FTE: equals an employee's scheduled hours divided by the employer's hours for a full-time work week. For example: Madge works 22.5 hours of a 37.5 hour work week, therefore her FTE is 0.6 as she is works 60% of her organisation's work week.
- The Work Pattern's Start Date.
- The employee's Contracted Hours;

How do I edit a work pattern?
Editing a Work Pattern is useful if you wish to correct the current Work Pattern record.
- Within the Employment details page, click the Edit icon in the Work Pattern section.
- Select Edit Work Pattern from the menu. The Edit work pattern details page appears.
- Update the Work Pattern where necessary.
- Click the SAVE AND CONTINUE button. A message appears asking: Are you sure you wan to make these changes? The data you are about to change affects historic payslips and will therefore create correction payments.
- Click the YES, SAVE THE CHANGES button. The FTE is updated in the Employment Details page.
Note: The NO, DON'T CHANGE button is set as the default.
How do I add a work pattern?
Adding a Work Pattern is useful if you want to replace the current Work Pattern with a new one.

Within the employee's Employment details page, click the Edit icon in the Work Pattern section. The Add work pattern details page appears.Note: Those fields with a red asterisk beside them are mandatory.
- Enter the Contracted Weekly Hours.
- Enter the Full-Time Weekly Hours. The FTE is automatically calculated.
- Select the Work Patterns from the drop-down list.
- Enter the Start Date of the new hours.
- Enter an End Date, if necessary. The Current Work Pattern will end before the new Work Pattern begins.
- Click the SAVE AND CONTINUE button. A message appears asking: Are you sure you wan to make these changes? The data you are about to change affects historic payslips and will therefore create correction payments.
- Click the YES, SAVE THE CHANGES button. The new Work Pattern is displayed in the Employment Details page.
Note:
The NO, DON'T CHANGE button is set as the default.
- View the history of the closed Work Patterns on the Edit Employees page by expanding the View History drop-down in the Work Pattern section.
