How do I attach a work pattern to employees using post history?

Modified on Tue, 10 Dec at 3:10 PM

Work Patterns are used to define the days or part days of the working week that are standard working days for an employee or a post. They can be used to define the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of an employee, which can be used to pro-rate salary and/or additional payments or allowances. They are also used to enable accurate reporting of employee absence, which can be related to such payments as Occupational Pay and Statutory Sick Pay.

  Note:

Before you can assign a work pattern to an employee, the working pattern days must be set up using the Work Patterns Wizard. For more information, see How Do I Set Up Working Pattern Days?

Within the Post History window, you can attach a work pattern to the employee via the Working Pattern tab.

To attach a work pattern

  1. Navigate to the Working Pattern tab.
Go to Cintra iQ: People> Employment record> Post History form.

      Important:

If the employee has an existing record, you need to close it before you can create a new one.

  2. Right-click: New. The Employee Post FTE form appears.
  3. Enter the From Date.
  4. Enter the To Date.

      Note:

If applicable, leave the To Date blank to keep the date period open ended.

  5. Select the desired Work Pattern.
  6. Select the desired FTE Calculation Method. For more information, see What are the FTE Calculation Methods?
  7. Enter the Hours Worked Per Week, if applicable.
  8. Enter the Weeks Worked Per Year, if applicable.
  9. Enter the FTE Factor, if applicable.

      Note:

Depending on the setup of your system, FTE can be derived from the job and post or from the working pattern or just manually entered by Direct Entry. For more information about FTE calculation methods, see What are the FTE Methods?

  10. Click the OK button. The record appears in the Work Pattern tab and the FTE will be used to calculate the salary.

      Note:

If you do not enter a working time record Cintra iQ will assume a default FTE of 1.

  11. Click the OK button to exit.
