How do I import employees?

How do I import employees?

  1. Navigate to File > Import > Data Import. The import file window appears.
  2. From the Data File dropdown, select Employee. 
  3. Once the data file is selected, it will produce a list of tables data can be imported to. Select the appropriate table. 
  4. Select Table Columns to view the required fields. Elements in red are compulsory and must be present on the import sheet. All others can be added on. 
  5. Selecting the file
  6. First select the upload icon in the top right corner 
  7. Upload your file, click the 3 dots in the Please select file to be imported, and select the file you just imported. 

Excel spreadsheet - import preparation 

  1. In an excel, ensure that all red elements from the Table Column are present. 
  2. Naming convention for headings is not important as long as it is clear what these columns represent. 
    • Date format must be DD/MMM/YYYY
  3. If you are importing the Minimum Time Interval Size- regardless of whether you specify "half days" or "minutes" - you must manually convert and enter the Minimum Time Interval into seconds. 
    • For example, if the Minimum Time Interval is to be 30 minutes, you must enter 1800 (30 minutes x 60 seconds) into the spreadsheet.
    • However, if you are entering the Minimum Time Interval directly into the look up table, you do NOT need to convert the time into seconds.
  4. Save the spreadsheet as CSV (Comma delimited)
  5. Close the spreadsheet before can be importing it into iQ.
