Cintra iQ has an Auto Enrolment (AE) facility, which takes you through the process of amending a pension scheme set up, defining which payment headings are pensionable and which headings are classed as Qualifying Earnings, running an assessment, and enrolling employees into the relevant Auto Enrolment scheme. Cintra iQ can also manage Opt ins and Opt outs. The following are the basics steps to auto enrol an employee(s) in Cintra iQ.
I am a new employer and want to make sure that I am filling my responsibilities regarding pensions. I need to perform the following:
- Enter the Staging Date and Pension Administrator Details in Employer Setup. For more information, see How Do I Enter Auto Enrolment Settings and Information?
- Set postponements within each payroll. For more information, see How Do I Set Auto Enrolment Postponements?
- Define what earnings can be classed as Qualifying Earnings on all relevant pension schemes. For more information, see How Do I Define Earnings as Qualifying Earnings for Auto Enrolment Assessments?
- Define any pension scheme parts as Qualifying and supports Auto Enrolment. For more information, see How Do I Define Pension Scheme Parts as Supporting Auto Enrolment?
- Create assessments to identify categories of workers. For more information, see How Do I Run Auto Enrolment Assessments?
- Automatically enrol employees into a scheme. For more information, see How Do I Auto Enrol Employees into a Scheme?
Note: If any of your schemes have banded contributions based on annual earnings, you will also need to do a Payroll Pension Refresh for auto-enrolled employees to put the correct band in the employee records. But if you only have few employees, you can so this manually.
